NASA Discovers Eighth New Planet In Kepler System

NASA has announced an 8th new planet in the Kepler system.  Kepler-90 is the first known star to be comparable to our solar system with 8 planets in its rotation.  The discovery was made in a joint effort with Google. NASA and Google uncovered the planet which is more than 2,500 light-years away using a planet-hunting Kepler telescope.  The new discovery has been dubbed Kepler-90i.  Researchers say it's small, "sizzling" hot and rocky and uninhabitable.  It circles its star every 14.5 days.

NASA says it expects to make more discoveries in the near future using the Kepler telescope.
