Charlie Rose Fired Over Sexual Misconduct Allegations

CBS is officially announcing the firing of news anchor Charlie Rose. In a statement, CBS said "a short time ago we terminated Charlie Rose's employment with CBS News, effective immediately."  The network said Rose's firing "followed the revelation yesterday of extremely disturbing and intolerable behavior said to have revolved around his PBS program."  CBS added "our credibility in that reporting requires credibility managing basic standards of behavior."

Rose's quick downfall began after eight women stepped forward to allege harassment by the 75-year-old newsman. Rose's former CBS co-anchors Gayle King and Norah O'Donnell said they were reeling from the news. King said she lost sleep over the revelations against Rose. O'Donnell said "It takes a lot of courage for these women to come forward. They should continue to do so." O'Donnell added there "is no excuse for this alleged behavior."
